Local former Hooters girl Jesse Jane is being called the next Jenna Jameson.

Jesse Jane knows the value of holding out. The Arlington native was doing some swimsuit modeling not too long ago — brushing off offers to pose for men’s magazines, including Playboy (not enough money) — when she was approached by the owner of Digital Playground, an adult film company.
“I really like to fuck,” she said recently in a phone interview. “So it just made sense to do it.”
She’s now one of the most sought-after female porn stars in the country, earning six figures for appearing in five Digital Playground films a year and attracting a crowd. She’s made multiple appearances on The Howard Stern Show, was nominated last year for “Best New Starlet” in the Adult Video News Awards (the standard by which all other porn honors are measured), and can be found regularly on the Playboy Channel and in the pages of Hustler, Maxim, and other assorted men’s magazines.
Fans and insiders alike took immediate notice of the buxom blonde shortly after her debut, No Limits, a parody of David Fincher’s The Game. “I remember after about six months everyone was calling and e-mailing,” Jane said.
Jane has since starred in 11 hardcore films (plus one softcore outing), with her twelfth (“a pirate movie”) scheduled for release this March. Of Jane’s second hardcore feature, Beat the Devil, industry critics Freddy and Eddy wrote that she “performed like a veteran.”
Said Roger T. Pipe, another industry critic: “Jesse Jane is the main reason to watch [her breakout hit Erotique]. She shows some genuine sexual heat. I’d like to see her cut loose in a movie with a little less style to get in her way.”
She’s already generating some interest from folks outside the skin trade. “I’ve had some bit parts on Baywatch and Starsky & Hutch,” Jane said. “But I’m not ready to mess with the mainstream yet.”
A cheerleader in high school, Jane grew up in a normal middle-class household. Until she really got going in the porn industry, she hadn’t done anything “dirty” for pay, except work at Hooters.
Jane says she’s kept a cool head about her success. “Everyone thinks that every porno star is on drugs or just fucks anyone and anything,” Jane said. “I’m sure certain ones do, but I don’t. I have a life of my own and have respect for myself.
“I won’t do films where they rent some cheap motel room and just cram it with a bunch of random guys and girls,” she continued. “Or the movies where women get mistreated or disrespected.”
Her most recent film, Island Fever 3 (released in September), pretty much concerns Jane and two other beautiful women and their life on an empty paradisiacal beach. Antonioni’s L’Avventura, it’s not. That’s not to say that Island Fever doesn’t serve its purpose.
Like the woman that Jane’s often compared to — superstar Jenna Jameson — Jane continues fielding offers for bigger and better things, including bit parts in Hollywood blockbusters and, yes, booty calls from celebrities (such as Kid Rock). Her forthcoming feature won’t be in theaters, but you can bet it’ll be in a lot of homes. Her video sales, according to Digital Playground, are 30 percent higher than any other DP release.
