Eisley’s second, as-of-yet-unnamed album, the follow-up to their 2005 major label debut, Room Noises, should be out this spring. The family band of three sisters and two brothers has a lot to live up to. Though Room Noises mostly stays the course of twee, positivist, and — dare we say — implied-Christian indie pop, the disc occasionally steals away into the shadows, and when it does, a black brilliance takes over. “Marvelous Things,” “My Lovely,” and “Just Like We Do” are the handiest examples.

The DuPrees — Stacy, Sherri, Chauntelle, Weston, and Garron — may play some of their new material at this year’s annual A Very Buzz-Oven Christmas show. The band headlines a bill that includes Ivoryline, PlayRadioPlay, The Feds, Kessler, Oceans Firing, The Gazelles, Upside, and Darby.

A nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting regional rock, Buzz-Oven does guerilla marketing better than any other group, hands — and prehensile tails — down. For the chance to go backstage and meet some of the performers, including Eisley, The Feds, Ivoryline, and PlayRadioPlay, industrious fans can go to MySpace.com/buzzoven, copy and paste a conspicuously placed promotional text image, and post it as a comment on 200 MySpace Friends’ pages. The first 10 contestants to provide Buzz-Oven with legitimate URL’s as proof will win backstage privileges. The event is all-ages, and doors open at 2 p.m.

Sun at the Plano Centre, 2000 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano. $15-18. 972- 422-0296. For tickets, FrontgateTickets.com.
