What We Never Saw

To the editor: Thanks for the great article on the photography of Peter Feresten (“Peter Feresten’s Fort Worth,” Aug. 15, 2002). As a former Fort Worth commercial photographer, I appreciate seeing this important work in print. The legacy of Feresten’s work shows us sides of Fort Worth that most will never see. I also thought Hudson’s clear and heartful style to be the perfect counterpoint.

Thanks again.

Add It to Her Name

To the editor: Just finished your article on the Moore/Curry race (“The D.A.,” Aug. 22, 2002), which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Also just wanted to comment on the whole Republican/Democrat issue. Mr. Curry said that, “This is a Republican country. We will sweep the ballot — again.” I think it’s no longer about the party you run for, but the issues you run on. Mr. Curry has another think coming if he thinks he can win because he is a Republican. For you see, I am one of those suburban Republican women who will vote for the best person for the job, regardless of party. My vote as of now goes to Terri Moore. It’s really sad that if a woman is strong-willed and strong-voiced, she is labeled a “bitch” for standing up for what she believes in. If that’s the case, maybe I should go and have “Bitch” added to my birth certificate so it could just become part of my legal name, for I will never shut up.

Editor’s note: It was not Mr. Curry but local Republican Party chairwoman Pat Carlson who made the prediction about sweeping the ballot.

“Votes” for Tocco

To the editor: Please tell “Static” that my name is H. Richard Gwozdz and not Robert Gwozdz, and whoever gave “Static” that information probably gave “Static” the wrong number because I always return my calls.

So, who is going to win the FWISD school board president election? Is it Sims or Manny? I personally think that it is going to be Tocco. Watch the school board meetings and check it out.

Thanks to all those that voted for GWOZDZ. We did it! We forced a run-off! More money — more money for the candidates to spend and another month to campaign. Exhausting isn’t it? Thanks.

H. Richard Gwozdz

Corrections

•In last week’s cover story, “The D. A.,” Lee and Janie Saldivar’s last name was spelled incorrectly.

Also, the group, Parents of Murdered Children, is not participating in the campaign of Terri Moore as the story indicated. POMC is a tax-exempt group that is prohibited from endorsing political candidates. Members of the group named in the story are supporting Moore’s campaign as individuals only.

•In last week’s Static, school board candidate Richard Gwozdz’s first name was incorrect.

Fort Worth Weekly regrets the errors.
