It’s An Opinion Column

To the editor: I care very much about Air America making it, as they are (On Second Thought, April 20, 2005). You obviously listened for only a very short time and are using preconceived ideas about Jerry Springer in your assessment. Jerry is kind to his callers and listens. He is also an intelligent, thoughtful man who has his country’s best interest at heart. Listen to all the shows over a period of time before you pass judgment. I have heard interviews with Barbara Boxer, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, U.S. Sen. Birch Bayh, Bobby Kennedy Jr., and many more. It is good radio and is getting better. Instead of trashing it, support it to make it better. That is, unless you are a conservative and want to trash everything that you don’t agree with.

To the editor: National Public radio has a mix of hosts, left and right: Kevin Phillips, Andrew Sullivan, Chip Pitts, Chuck Pena, and that’s just a few of the names that come to mind. The CATO Institute and the American Enterprise Institute both do radio commentaries on NPR. You got this one wrong.
