Dogging It

To the editor: I live down the street from Jango’s and have been dining there since it opened two years ago (Chow, Baby, May 11, 2005). Your article upset me because I feel Jango’s is one of the best places to eat in North Arlington. Just because you did not like one dish should not give you the right to completely “dog” a restaurant. The filet is the best in Arlington and can hold its own with Del Frisco’s in Fort Worth. The mushroom ravioli, chicken marsala, and salmon are delicious. You need to try the lunch menu. After eating the French dip, you will not be able to eat one anywhere else.
Also, Jango’s is not “21 and up.” They were when they first opened, but that was only because you could smoke inside. Now you can’t, and all ages are welcome.
You really should give this restaurant another chance. You should spend your time “dogging” Chili’s, Friday’s, or even the so-called steak restaurants in North Arlington. They get more business than they should.

Editor’s note: Although Chow, Baby was told by a Jango’s employee that the 21-and-over policy was in effect, the restaurant manager subsequently explained that the policy had been changed about 18 months ago. Fort Worth Weekly regrets the error.
