Dough-Eyed

Last Call ain’t no tight-wad, but I keep a close eye on how much money I’m spending on nights out.
Except at New Orleans Nights.
For some strange reason, right after you cross that magical threshold, your ability to at least be mindful of your money completely disappears. Case in point: Last week. Last Call, making every effort to avoid being roped into hanging out at the Stock Show, had come into a little dough and was looking to spend some. Not much, but more than on your average weekday eve. We’re talking $40 — max.
But the instant your columnist walked through those glass doors and saw all those lovely ladies and friendly patrons and heard all that great gyration music, all good sense flew out the window. Long story short, I watched about $80 of my hard-earned dollars vanish within about two hours. Drinks, dances, drinks, dances — that shit gets expensive!
Bottom line: Unless you’re planning on spending the rest of your week eating ramen noodles, just be heedful of your cashflow at No-No’s.
