There’ll be food and laughter (though not at the same time) with Four Day Weekend, this New Year’s Eve.

Food, Four Day
We love Four Day Weekend, we really do. Since its creation nearly 10 years ago, the improvisational comedy troupe has been doing good, funny work. From a limited six-week run at Casa Mañana’s Theater in the Square, they’ve become a mainstay of the downtown theater scene. You don’t last that long by sucking.
But we don’t understand what they’re up to this New Year’s Eve. Since Four Day’s home is in the same building as the cowboy-chic restaurant Reata, the troupe is throwing a party that involves a show and grub. Lemme tell you that Night & Day once had the great displeasure of watching a portly uncle laugh with food in his mouth — not funny.
OK, well, for the record: the food and the comedy at Four Day happen at two different times. At 8pm is dinner, catered by Reata: tenderloin steak sandwiches; tenderloin tamales with sun-dried tomato cream and pecan mash; bacon-wrapped shrimp; grilled chicken skewers with tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers; house-made chips and salsa; cheese and spinach quesadillas; and a fruit and cheese platter. The performance is at 10pm. Also included in the package are: a ticket to a future Four Day show, a Four Day t-shirt, champagne toast, party favors, and dancing to a DJ after the comedy. The best part: The event costs less than dinner for two at Reata on a random Tuesday night. (Ha!)
Sat at Four Day Weekend Theater, 312 Houston St, FW. Tickets are $91.75. Call 817-226-4DAY.
