Guest dancers in gala showstopping performance pieces will highlight Metropolitan Classical Ballet’s season-closing program, An Evening with the Stars, Saturday in Bass Performance Hall. Bolshoi principal Marianna Ryzhkina and soloist Ruslan Skvortsov head the list of special guests, which also includes soloists from the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium — Olga Volovoueva and Howard Quintero — as well as Alexei Tukov of the Colorado Ballet.
The dancers will be featured in excerpts from Don Quixote, Spartacus, Diana and Acteon, and other classical show pieces, all staged by co-artistic director Alexander Vetrov.
The ballet Romeo and Juliet, set to the Tchaikovsky fantasy overture by co-artistic director Paul Mejia, will anchor the program, with company regulars Olga Pavlova and Yevgeni Anfinogenov dancing the star-crossed lovers.
