End the Ogling
To the editor: In the March 30 article “Home of Hard Knocks” I was saddened to read the stories of Mrs. Gutierrez and the other housing residents. As if life wasn’t difficult enough after being uprooted from the Ripley Arnold housing project just to satisfy big business, now they have to deal with abrupt evictions or the threat of evictions at every turn. I applauded the city’s proposed housing efforts of three years ago, and now they need to live up to their promises. It is time to stop ogling big corporate bank accounts and start looking into the faces of the people they are failing.
