Cleveland Angsters
To the editor: Just want to thank Dan McGraw for his terrific review of Mohawk Combover (Listen Up, July 21, 2004). Our band members have been crawling from the wreckage, hand in hand, since high school, and it only took us 30 years to capture our suburban angst on tape. Dan figured it out. But then, he was back there in Cleveland at a time that is near impossible to explain, describe, or even remember accurately for those of us who were killing ourselves in front of 12 people night after night. And loving every second of it!

To the editor: Thanks so much for your review of Mohawk Combover by the Backdoor Men. It’s a great record, but I must admit, I’m prejudiced -- I’m the drummer. Your writer captured pretty accurately what it was like to thrash about in ’70s Clevo, which wasn’t a very nice place. (It’s much better today, but no Fort Worth.) And if we ever go on tour, we’re comin’ to your town.
One thing to add: Until some record company decides to buy it and make us all rich, Mohawk Combover is available only on the internet, at www.handsomeproductions.com. Thanks, Fort Worth!
