Not at Home in the USA
To the editor: I just finished Tracy Everbach’s opinion piece (On Second Thought, March 16, 2004), and she is absolutely right what is happening to this country.
I have felt for about a year now that we no longer live in the USA. Our flag is the American flag, our title is still United States of America, people here look like Americans, but this is no longer the USA. It’s another country.
All the changes came through internal means. Nobody invaded us and imposed changes. All these people who look and sound just like you and me, all these impostor-Americans scattered throughout our society, as well as all of us who vegetated in front of the tv, watching news programs with no news, are the ones responsible.
I often look at a world map and wonder where I might go to find the people who are really American, with American values.
